Interesting information from Grant Dixon, this years Captain at Seaham Golf Club.
He was invited over to Royal Dublin to take part in a Pro Am in memory of Micheal Moran who was Seaham Harbour’s first professional.
In 1918 he was killed in the war. He won the Irish Open for 5 consecutive years and even came 3rd in the British Open alongside the famous Harry Vardon.
The history behind all of this is unbelievable and is still being explored by Seaham.
Grant represented Seaham and County Durham in the Pro Am. He had a great day and night.
Picture shows Grant and the current Royal Dublin Captain with their hands on the trophy.
