The executives from the North Durham, Hadrian and North Northumberland Leagues played their annual tri match for the Dixon Cup at South Shields today. The match is played in 4 Ball Better ball format with the best total stableford scores deciding the winner. The scores were very tight as the image below shows with North Durham and the Hadrian League tied after all had completed 18 holes. Ties are decided by the back 9 totals and this resulted in a win for the NDUGC. It was good to play golf with the committees from the other leagues and to compare notes about how the respective leagues are progressing South Shields GC were excellent in their hosting of the event, the food was excellent and many of our players were very complimentary about the condition of the course.
